Transmedia Camp 101 is a tangent blog to my 1001tales.posterous.com.
Because transmedia is generating so much critical commentary in tandem with the expanding number of projects online, I’ve decided to create a blog dedicated to following and archiving the best of transmedia today & tomorrow.
Who am I & what do I do?
I am a transmedia storytelling consultant & have been on faculty with CFC Media Lab since 2001 advising on digital, interactive, & transmedia storytelling across media in over 70 projects, including screen-based works, in situ & social media installations, online social networking sites, cross-platform projects, interactive short films, ARGs and interactive graphic novels.
In 2006/07 I was the narrative design consultant on Late Fragment, a feature film/dvd (CFC/NFB) that screened at Cannes in 2008 as part of the Future of Cinema Salon. I have mentored for the Digital Development Lab (CBC/BC Film/New Media BC) 2008 & 2009 and Melting Silos (NFB/SFU Praxis), given numerous workshops on digital storytelling for a variety of audiences (traditional to digital). This past year’s talks have addressed strategies for data visualization as interactive documentary with collaborator, Faisal Anwar, disruptive innovations in a digital world, & numerous talks on trans/crossmedia development for organizations such as the NFB French Program & for the Screen Edge Forum, New Zealand, amongst other topics.
